Security that actually works
A deadbolt that only throws if you lean on the door isn't locked, it's decorative. Strike plates, longer screws into the framing, and a properly aligned latch are cheap and they're the difference between a locked door and a door that looks locked.
Your AC stops paying for the gap
Pensacola summers are unforgiving about a door with daylight under it. Weatherstripping, sweeps, and thresholds are small-dollar parts that stop conditioned air from leaving and stop bugs and water from coming in.
Doors that work make a house feel maintained
Nothing makes a house feel neglected faster than three interior doors that drag on the carpet and a slider you have to body-check. It's also one of the fastest, cheapest visible improvements on most punch lists.

Find out what actually moved
Sticking doors are usually one of three things: hinges that have loosened, a strike plate that's out of alignment, or a house that has settled and taken the frame with it. The fix is different for each, and guessing wastes your money.
Adjust before you cut
Shimming a hinge, driving longer screws into the stud, or moving a strike plate an eighth of an inch solves most of these. Planing a door is the last resort, not the first move.
Hardware, weatherstripping, thresholds
Knob and deadbolt swaps, closers, sweeps, and stripping replaced with parts that fit the door you actually have — not the closest thing on the shelf.
Open and close it a dozen times
With you there. A door that works once while I'm holding it isn't fixed. Latch, lock, swing, no drag, no rattle.

Repair or replace the door
Interior doors are usually worth repairing. An exterior door that's rotted at the bottom rail or a slider whose frame is shot is often past the point where repair is the cheaper answer — I'll tell you which side of that line yours is on.
Screens and enclosures
Torn screens, popped spline, bent frames, and screen-enclosure panels are quick, satisfying fixes and a common Gulf Coast request after storm season.
Impact windows and glass are a different trade
Glass replacement, sealed-unit failure, and impact-window installs go to a glass company, not to me. Frames, hardware, screens, trim and weatherstripping are mine. That line is worth being clear about before you book.
